Biden mocks corrupt Supreme Court justice in new interview

Let the Dark Brandon memes commence. In a new interview with New Yorker magazine (no subscription? Us either), President Biden took a rare (but welcomed) swing at corrupt Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, referring to him as “the guy who likes to spend a lot of time on yachts.”

He’s of course referring to the Supreme Court Justice’s affinity for secretly accepting high-value gifts from various people who have business before the court, including totally normal Nazi memorabilia collectors.

The comment comes on the same day that Thomas, whose wife is an insurrectionist sympathizer, ruled that insurrectionist Donald Trump can remain on the ballot in 2024 just in time for today’s Super Tuesday.

If it’s not already clear, critics say Clarence Thomas is compromised and should accept John Oliver’s generous offer before it expires—and before he’s allowed to do even more damage.

🗞️ Making news right now…

Here are the top stories making news this morning.

➡️ Question of the Day

Yesterday’s results: Yesterday we asked: Why do you think corporate media covers Biden’s errors more than Trump’s? You voted…

Karen voted some other reason: “They give him more media coverage than any other President there has been. I think the Media just loves pissing people off. It’s ridiculous. I don’t even watch the news anymore because that’s all they talk about.”

Plushtown gave us this reason: “To raise low level contributions to buy ads from the rightly frightened back against the wall dupes.”

Neil also gave a very plausible reason: “Trump's errors have been so frequent for such a long time that corporate media has become accustomed to his all-too-frequent gaffs. To them, it must not be "news" if the behavior is not new. Biden's errors, on the other hand, are a relatively recent development.”

Today we want to know: Do you trust the media? Why or why not?

Good News: France just made abortion a constitutional right 💪

“My Body My Choice” displayed on the Eiffel Tower in Paris

On Monday, France enshrined a woman’s right to abortion in its constitution, becoming the first country in the world to take such a step. Lawmakers overwhelmingly backed the move, by a vote of 780 against 72 (imagine?!) in a special vote outside Paris.

“We are sending the message to all women: Your body belongs to you and no one has the right to control it in your stead,” said Prime Minister Gabriel Attal.

Reports say the impetus for the change was French activists responding to the U.S. overturning Roe v. Wade in 2022. Je suis embarrassé.
